Hi hi hi, it's release day for the first chapter of my friend's game, B&F, available in Spanish, English, and Japanese. It's short, it's free, and I totally helped, so go check it out if you're interested. Get dressed, meet a girl, do crime...in the game. 

Anyway, since I'm officially in the credits, I thought I'd provide an exciting behind the scenes look into my contributions. 

It's been a new experience for me to play a game, not as a consumer, but as a beta tester. Honestly, I usually make sure to interact with absolutely everything when I'm playing a game anyway, don't want to miss out on flavour text, but this time it was important to see the script in action, and check for any bugs that come up in what I perceive as playing it normally.

Since she refuses to give me a special page in the credits just listing the bugs I personally spotted and giving them cool names, I shall go through my incredibly important achievements here.

1) Locked Room Fendi
I found a bug where, but standing in a particular position, I deleted the event allowing our fully dressed protagonist to leave the room. 
Bad End: Trapped Forever

2) Floating Fendi
I found that if you stood behind the bench to talk to Bila, Fendi performed his sitting down animation from further up the grid. Or, in terms of how it looks, Fendi sits down in mid-air. I mean, he is an elf.



3) Frozen Fendi
I found that if you travel to the extra room with the teleportation key in your inventory while in the midst of a cutscene where you lose control of Fendi, you remain unable to control Fendi upon entering the extra room. 
Bad End: Trapped Forever 2 And this time you can't even move!

If these sound super fun and you too want to be trapped in a room unable to continue with a game, well, hopefully you can't and that's all been fixed.

My main job was editing the English script. Playing through today, I feel like the new script still reads like the author is Spanish, and I'll have to think about how I approach the next chapter in regard to that. I think there's a balance to be found between the English feeling fluid, and maintaining the character and sense of voice of the original, and I do think I have a tendency to find non-standard English endearing.

All of which is to say, chapter 2 should be in Spanglish, see you then, amigos. 

The first chapter of my friend Ceci's game is out this Saturday, and the trailer is up! It's a free episodic dialogue-heavy RPG maker game with her original art, music, and plot, and will be available in Spanish, English, and Japanese.

I did significant editing to the English language script, so it's basically my words on screen (sometimes), the most thrilling thing ever. I was tragically banned from using British English and thus completely neutered!!, but I think I did a decent job with it, and I'll get to see on Saturday what changes the other English editors made. But the stuff with the black background is all my editing :)

After all this time, I've finally started a chapter fic! It's absolutely actually just going to be the same as my series but as one work, years between chapters or whatever. Anyway, I'm finally going to be doing Sonia/Peko Twilight Syndrome style ghost story investigation with all the stuff going on at Hope's Peak. It's started off silly, but there's got to be darker stuff because of what's going on at the time.

Ignoring the DR3 canon is a time-honoured tradition in the Danganronpa fandom, and indeed DR3 itself rather fucks with the timeline. I've already kept Natsumi alive into the year 78 join, but now I'm not sure when to kill her off! It's a big deal to Pekoyama as my main character, but I don't really want to rehash that whole thing again and just write that case. Still, I want her to die, and it will affect Peko's mood. 

Honestly, DR3's version of the events from Twilight Syndrome Murder Case seen in SDR2 just add all this extra potentially meaningful lore. Combining multiple sources is confusing.
Koizumi knew about the reserve course (her friend from middle school joined!)? What is the situation with friendships between reserve course and main course students? Natsumi was in the photography club with Koizumi? And Sato? Did they go to the same middle school, or was this at Hope's Peak? The reserve course are part of the same clubs as the main course? Natsumi and Fuyuhiko are in the same year? Tsumiki, Koizumi, Saionji, Mioda and Sato walk home together? And lol Hinata witnessed a load of this but isn't included in the game?

Fundamentally, DR3 changes stuff. Mitarai has memories of getting bullied as a kid and photographed by kids with rather modern looking smartphones, which seems rather high-tech and futuristic of them, unless the year this is all set has changed. The Tragedy of HPA has council members killing in the corridor, outside the room with the blood and the chalk outlines! So I'm totally fine to ignore the overly easy happy ending where everyone from 77b looks happy and healthy save for one hand and one eye, and I'll kill Natsumi when I'm ready.

But when is that?

I just checked the phantasmal poison frog Wikipedia page for the first time in a while (the first major update I missed was 2024, and then there's been an even bigger one in 2025) and it's looking so awesome now.

I love this photo of a dyeing dart frog and a phantasmal one hanging out, apparently taken in Germany. V. funny to me that the most usable phantasmal poison frog photos are in aquariums and zoos, where they aren't actually poisonous because they're fed different insects. Changing my name to phantasmalnontoxic.



And best of all, for my purposes, a Creative Commons mating photo! Going to use this every time I horny-post from now on... Is that most of the time? Hmm.

Also, hey, wow, I'm frog-posting. I could fill my journal right up if I allow myself to just make entries going 'Look at this frog! Isn't it great?'. All frogs are beautiful 🖤

Challenge #5

In your own space, create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, a wishlist of sorts

So, I'm basically going to repeat my wishes from last year.

1) I'd love if you read and comment on any of my fic, if there's any that catches your fancy. This one seems like an easy one, but I haven't written tons and there's a fair bit of kink stuff, so, yeah, no pressure, lol. Edit: oh yeah, and it's all archive locked, it is totally technically possible for dreamwidth users to not have an ao3 account.

2) The big wish I'm not expecting granted: any art based on my fic. Fan art, pod fic, sequels, remixes, playlists, etc. etc.

3) I loved doing this one last year. Link me an AMV of any anime I've watched! I guess I'll also accept Clannad anime, Danganronpa THH anime, Grisaia anime, and Buffyverse vids.

4) Once again, I'd love if you'd rec a song that's not in English! 💜

If you've watched any anime from... my lifetime, you probably know these two, but it amuses me most to think of them as 2/7 of プルタブと缶, the impromptu boy band in Prince of Tennis.

Not the most fannish list I could do, but I find sharing music has been a really fun part of Snowflake Challenge, so I'm doing it on my journal this year.

Snowflake challenge is back on, and I'll probably participate to some extent. And in a shocking turn of events, challenge #1 this year isn't explicitly asking me to update my fandom information!

I'm not going to make a post introducing myself, you can't make me!!!, and I'm not even going to link this on the actual Snowflake Challenge page, but I am going to count myself as having done challenge 1 this year by answering the second question. 

The Snowflake Challenge has been great for finding journals to read, for discovering new music, AMVS, fic. But why do I actually do it?

Because at this time of year, I've got my assignment for Holly Poly to do and I'm procrastinating.

Re: the easy workaround I spotted here, Steam no longer allow adult games to be purchased directly from one's wishlist in the UK without having first added a credit card to one's account. Can still access the Adult only category to view pornographic video previews of all of these games, but can't buy them.

JAST and MangaGamer are both still selling H with no new verification barriers (and I'll buy this particular game on the latter site), so all the more reason to prioritise purchases from other websites, but yeah, annoying.

I finished ZZ Gundam yesterday and am already ascending to new fujoshi heights partway through watching CCA, but it's vital I document my very late series revelation: Beecha should be a woman. And it turns out there's totally textual evidence! 

Here we see Beecha enthusiastically picking out women's clothing, charmed by this red dress:



Put on the dress, Beecha! I know you want to.

And then ZZ concludes with Beecha wearing something rather similar. Yes, it's a bit different, and we get a glimpse of trousers underneath, but the consistency of taste! And look how pretty Beecha looks.
 


I propose a Beecha redemption arc, but it's just a Beecha feminisation arc. 

While it is still a bit much, I can totally tolerate the spinning, Danganronpa is back on. 

And I'm once again reaffirmed in my belief that I need to extensively study canon as part of the process of writing fanfiction. Genocider Sho exclusively kills males because she's a dedicated fujoshi, and as such, I totally messed up by writing her as also being a himejoshi. She has 'too much passion and conviction to cross that line!'! 

Clearly, the RPF she'd actually write is BL of her murder victims. I understand, now.
