It's the last day, and I'm ill, so I'm not finishing up any of the proper posts I started making. Instead, have a bit of a summary on what I achieved doing this.

So, I managed to post on 18 days out of 21. I was away for a few days, and then bed bound for most of the following week, because doing things is really tiring, having any plans during the three weeks did mean I was guaranteed to fail. But excluding that, I have posted every day, even if I felt some days weren't worthy of being part of the tag. So, currently, at least, my three weeks for dreamwidth tag doesn't actually cover the full three weeks! How terrible.

I did make a few 'proper' posts (although answering questions is also fun), mostly grappling with the wider Danganronpa canon, the timeline, and how that fits into the fic I'm writing at the moment, which harmfulmyths has been really helpful with.
But also one on Rouge the bat.
Writing more has, for the most part, helped with writing more. While some days I've spent so long writing meta that I have no time to write my fic and I'm excited to write my fic, ughhh, largely I'm in a good place where writing is flowing relatively easy. Ideas are, too, and putting some of my thoughts and challenges into words themselves as DW posts has been helpful!

I've also had a good time with other people's 3W4DW posts.

I'm been reading stardust_rifle 's posts about the JrockYaoi livejournal comm, and I have been listening to some visual kei in the process. I like exploring new music, I always have a lot of fun listening to all the music recs that crop up during the snowflake challenge, so I appreciated the starting point for that. So much so that I'm thinking I might join vkotd , because even if I'm not in love with the genre, it's mostly currently occasional song recs, and that's definitely no bad thing.
And I'm now into Kaggra, for real, and also Koshinaka Makoto's beautiful face.

elyusion posted some interesting article links, especially the queer ones! I finally did a transgender test! The jury's still out. And even if I'm dithering on vkotd because I'm not a real fan, I did join joseimuke , immediately, because I've definitely been craving girl stuff lately. Someone brought up the Style Savvy series, which I took as my sign to finally buy Style Boutique for my DS.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my posts, it's been really nice. A social, productive, creative time!

The "Komaeda knows what a video game is" post

Hi, hello, I'm home, I hope Dreamwidth survived without me.

I thought I'd 'ease myself in gently' by finally making one of my classic posts, as if that would take no time or effort. Tbh, sitting up at all is pretty uncomfortable still, been doing lots of lying down. Anyway, without further ado, let's talk about Komaeda Nagito and video games.

One of my pet peeves in, well, in Komaeda/Hinata fic fandom really, is a somewhat recurring plot point where Hinata introduces Komaeda to video games. Not a video game, or even a particular genre of video games, but video games as a whole, because our sheltered boy has never played one before and needs to be taught!

It must be noted, I read through all explicit or mature fic tagged with Komaeda Nagito for over a year in 2020-2021. There's a ton of teen and all ages stuff I've not read, years of fic since I've not read, and also, I don't want to dig up and link to specific works that did this. I'm not really here to prove that there was some kind of trend, and I know Magi is a popular komahina writer who has always written gamer Komaeda, but I definitely wrote my fic for the ship with the perception that people were writing him wrong in this one specific way and it was my duty to fight for the truth!!!

Anyway, here's my proof Komaeda plays video games.

Origin of your username:
My ao3 username is StrawberryPoison, which is a) the strawberry poison dart frog, and b) Danganronpa 2 spoilers, Komaeda Nagito's cause of death was poison from Strawberry house. Bonus shout-out to Ando Ruruka offering Kimura Seiko a red macaron in DR3 that is quite likely strawberry flavoured.
For my dreamwidth, I decided to pick a different frog in the same format, and the chūnibyō of phantasmalpoison is really fun.

I'm currently watching Idol Time Pripara, a sequel to a show I haven't seen (not on Crunchyroll) that exists to sell a trading card arcade game, which, like, obviously I can't play, aimed at primary school girls.
And it's the best thing ever!!!!!! So cute!!!! So funny!!!! The songs are catchy and generally feature lots of English for easy singing along.

I'm posting this one for the yuri, of course.
It is absolutely fulfilling my girl™ needs for when I need to inject myself with a strong dose of girl™, but there are also multiple chūni idols for the parts of my soul not dedicated to the pink and sparkly. Love love love.

Current favourite book:
There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless... and Pink Candy Kiss are my two favourite ongoing yuri manga I started reading this year, and No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! is my absolute favourite ongoing yuri manga I've been reading for a while, and if you didn't know it's long become a yuri manga, now you do. I hope for a polycule in the two with the long unwieldy names.

Current favourite video game:
Going to somewhat follow the theme established with Pripara Idol Time and go with Artificial Fashionista, a dress-up game that's a spin-off of a death game that's still in development, which I haven't played. It's free, there's a short VN plot set in the Artificial Selection universe which explains why we're dressing up instead of solving escape rooms, and then I've then spent an additional 24 hours just making outfits with all the additional paid DLC clothes. There are just so many cute things, many of which go together really well, without the insane number of things I accumulated in Love Nikki where I'd spend an hour just looking through everything. Check out my outfits!!!

Song on repeat:
I'm generally an album listener, or I put my whole library on shuffle, but I do have answers for this one, it's really catchy pop singles not on an album.
1) Katchup by DALsoobin which I got from greetingsfrommaars 's Snowflake challenge post, bought, and then still keep finding on youtube because the music video is mesmerising.

This group released one hit single, a couple more that didn't have that success, and then this absolutely perfect pop song was a free download if you signed up to their mailing list. V. much a put together by a record label and then dropped by them before they made an album kind of thing, but there you go.

It's probably still Clannad, and I've been back on Danganronpa lately, but I've clearly been Grisaia-posting enough that it's notable. It's just really good! I'm playing the prologue in The Eden of Grisaia at the moment, taking in all the yuri before Yuuji arrives at the school, it's really nice. I'm still saving the after-story, finishing the main story of the trilogy was just very satisfying in itself for a while. I am holding the possibilities in my mind.

Merry Three Weeks for Dreamwidth! I actually have some things I want to post about, so I will be relatively active these next few weeks, but I thought I'd start by filling in a prompt posted by goodbyebird

My friend from school used to email me shuffle games she found on people's fanfiction.net profiles, this is such a throwback. At some point I'll post one I dug up from 2012, but first,

Tearing my hair out at the new En Bookwalker site

I should contact support with my feedback or whatever, but, like, I'm just so incredibly overwhelmed by how dreadful the new website is.

Intensely stressful that something I spend a good chunk of my money on has been 'upgraded' so there's no wishlist, you can't exclude tags searching the store, you can't exclude books you own searching the store, you can't view by series (the first sale of the new site has nearly 4000 volumes all listed separately over 65 pages), the new reader doesn't have bookmarks and doesn't work properly on my mobile browser and has a page turning animation I hate and can't turn off on desktop, none of my reading history has transferred, I have no idea what the favourites tab of my library is supposed to be, they got rid of coinback for preorders, I think they're getting rid of the coinback discount loyalty scheme.
Also, while easily personally fixed by toggling mature content back on, BL and yuri are basically labelled mature and hidden by default??? I was like, where has most of my library gone?! Super super super gross!

Like, I'm just going to the Jp version of the site and reading the things I've already bought there, which is already worse than using the previous En Bookwalker. Or, you know, doing things that aren't reading manga.

Massive monopoly website is shooting itself in the foot and probably missing out on a load of my money etc. etc., which I should tell them, and there are other ways I can get manga, etc. But I've been having a bit of a freak-out every time I think about it over the past few days. Website I've been using basically every day for years is suddenly a total mess, a thing I knew could happen but wasn't mentally prepared for it to happen.

B&F: The dark corridor release date

Hi hi hi, it's release day for the first chapter of my friend's game, B&F, available in Spanish, English, and Japanese. It's short, it's free, and I totally helped, so go check it out if you're interested. Get dressed, meet a girl, do crime...in the game.

Anyway, since I'm officially in the credits, I thought I'd provide an exciting behind the scenes look into my contributions.

It's been a new experience for me to play a game, not as a consumer, but as a beta tester. Honestly, I usually make sure to interact with absolutely everything when I'm playing a game anyway, don't want to miss out on flavour text, but this time it was important to see the script in action, and check for any bugs that come up in what I perceive as playing it normally.

Since she refuses to give me a special page in the credits just listing the bugs I personally spotted and giving them cool names, I shall go through my incredibly important achievements here.

1) Locked Room Fendi
I found a bug where, by standing in a particular position, I deleted the event allowing our fully dressed protagonist to leave the room.
Bad End: Trapped Forever

2) Floating Fendi
I found that if you stood behind the bench to talk to Bila, Fendi performed his sitting down animation from further up the grid. Or, in terms of how it looks, Fendi sits down in mid-air. I mean, he is an elf.

3) Frozen Fendi
I found that if you travel to the extra room with the teleportation key in your inventory while in the midst of a cutscene where you lose control of Fendi, you remain unable to control Fendi upon entering the extra room.
Bad End: Trapped Forever 2 And this time you can't even move!

If these sound super fun and you too want to be trapped in a room unable to continue with a game, well, hopefully you can't and that's all been fixed.

My main job was editing the English script. Playing through today, I feel like the new script still reads like the author is Spanish, and I'll have to think about how I approach the next chapter in regard to that. I think there's a balance to be found between the English feeling fluid, and maintaining the character and sense of voice of the original, and I do think I have a tendency to find non-standard English endearing.

All of which is to say, chapter 2 should be in Spanglish, see you then, amigos.

The first chapter of my friend Ceci's game is out this Saturday, and the trailer is up! It's a free episodic dialogue-heavy RPG maker game with her original art, music, and plot, and will be available in Spanish, English, and Japanese.

I did significant editing to the English language script, so it's basically my words on screen (sometimes), the most thrilling thing ever. I was tragically banned from using British English and thus completely neutered!!, but I think I did a decent job with it, and I'll get to see on Saturday what changes the other English editors made. But the stuff with the black background is all my editing :)

I'll do more free advertising to my 8 followers on release day, but for now, check out words I wrote, in a video ☆
